A short while ago, I was commissioned to design and layout a Muppets Mural for a clinic exam room. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to also paint the mural (so someone else will be covering that part), but I like the final design and think the
mural is shaping up nicely. I'll post any final pics I receive once the painting is finished.
Enjoy.

Senators of the 111th Congress
That's All Folks. There's not much I can say about this project except, what a ride? The Senators series started as a study of facial structure and expression, but quickly grew into a life lesson about perseverance. While there was never any kind of deadline officially assigned to the series, the project took a lot longer to complete than I originally expected. In the end though, I feel like it was still successful. Aside from the knowledge I gained about the facial structure/ expressions, I also discovered a great deal about creating a series of this size, and how over the course of time ones approach to art/ drawing can grow and develop. I enjoyed creating each and everyone of these illustrations, and I hope that I'm not alone in saying in the end it was well worth it.

Amyana Jones
It's been awhile since I've drawn one of these, but after my wife insisted she saw at least 10 snakes in our yard yesterday I felt the need to make one.
Enjoy.

Thoughts?
So I took another look at the layout of this sketch last night, and have to say I'm a little torn. Originally, I fully intended the city scape background to be upside-down as shown in yesterdays post, because I enjoy the thought of a skewed perspective to force the viewer to be engaged in order to figure out exactly what is going on. However, after looking at the image reversed, I can't deny the fact that I am enjoying the weight, and tension that occurs with the background placed right side up. I really am conflicted. Anyone out there have any thoughts?

Elvis
A few weeks ago, I took my first trip to Vegas for a wedding. Due to some obligations, I wasn't able to do quite as much Vegas touristing as I would have wish. Which was completely fine. The trip was a ton of fun. However, I was a little disappointed I didn't see Elvis. So, I felt the need to make one of my own. Still looking for time to add some color, but these days that may never happen.
Enjoy

Empire
Not to long ago I was lucky enough to take my first trip to New York City. The city is completely amazing and very inspiring. I spend the majority of my free time there taking as many pictures as I possibly could in an attempt to bottle that inspiration. Above is the first, of what I hope to be many, creations based off of that trip (9" x 24" Acrylic on canvas). Hope you enjoy. Below is a few process photo for those of you who like to see that sort of stuff. Personally, I love seeing process.
