SafeHaven issue 3 cover inks

I feel like this cover lost a little something with the inks, but with any luck I can bring it back when I do the colors.

Old Painting

This is an older painting but I still really like how it turned out. I wanted to post something new, but all the projects I'm working on are in this weird, not quite finished yet, stage. So here's some older work to tie you over.

Where's Bald-O

This year I was lucky enough to help out some friends of mine with their Christmas Card. The Muckala's have had a running theme through the years where they make fun of the father, David. This year it ended up being "Where's Bald-O". Happy Holidays Everyone.

Senator Barrasso Republican WY

I feel like this one got a little over worked. The facial expression got away from me and became a bit mean spirited. Oh well, I guess that's the point of doing these studies. It wouldn't be any fun if it came easy, Right? Cross your fingers I don't get audited.

I found this sketch the other day in a stack of papers, and thought I'd show it. I was rather happy with the way it came out.

Senator Akaka

A few weeks ago I came across this amazing series of portraits by Tonci Zonjic (see the link below, it's worth it). Looking for an excuse to improve my ability to draw faces/ expressions, I've been inspired to start my own portrait series. I thought I'd start in a similar style to the last Zonjic portrait, and see where it takes me. I really enjoy the progression in style Zonjic series took, and hope to duplicate similar results in my own work.

Rather then draw random portraits, I've decided to work my way through the United States Senators. Above it the first one, Democrat Senator Akaka of Hawaii. I hope you enjoy it, because I'm really looking forward to the rest of the project.

SafeHaven issue 1 and 2

Thought I would post the trade cover for SafeHaven. On sale today. A fair warning to you all though, this trade only has issue one and two of four. We're planning on adding the other two issues once they are finish, but for you die hards out there it could keep you warm at night.

SafeHaven panel in progress

I spent last night researching this SafeHaven panel by kicking random people in the nuts.

Attu chapter one

So as a first time blogger I thought I would kick things off with a bang and announce the release of my latest project ATTU. Issue one of six, on Sale today...

Loosely based on actual events from World War II, ATTU tells the story of the last time a foreign power invaded the United States. A group of American soldiers are sent to the Aleutian Islands on a mission to reclaim the captured territory from Japanese control. Under equipped and unprepared for the climate and terrain of the island, the soldiers must learn to work together and trust each other if they to have any hope against the enemy who has had months to dig in and prepare. Co-created by Kyle Frink and Jon Muckala, ATTU presents a grim picture of what it was like to fight in America's forgotten battle.
